Miscellaneous Bird Photos

Many of these photos were taken as reminders of the birds we saw on our Natural History Eco-Tours & Photography Trips; some of them were taken of far off birds - to identify them later. Photos with an (ID) were taken for identification purposes only. As better photos are taken, the lesser quality photos will be removed, and newer photos added.

Many of these birds were easy to photograph - others, like the Brown Thrasher and the Thrushes were difficult, because they would not allow us to get close in rural settings - staying still, using a blind, or using a vehicle as a blind helped. Others were difficult - because of their rarity in Minnesota; many of them are spring and fall migrants. Knowing where, and when, to find them on a semi-regular basis helps in sighting, hearing, observing and photographing them.

Read T.R.'s Wildlife &Wildflower Blog to find out where and when these photos were taken.
